I think we have a smoking gun here: the economy collapsed because the education system in the US is so bad that people no longer know how to use a blanket by the time they reach adulthood.
At least LEGO, a product that stimulates creative minds, made it to the top six.
There may be hope yet... as in "the people who bought Snuggies remove themselves en masse from the gene pool by tripping over LEGO that they couldn't see lying on the floor because they were walking around in the damn Snuggie". :-)
